Our Collaborations

BlackPerfumers is dedicated to amplifying, sharing and supporting community-based projects highlighting Black perfumers in the fragrance industry. We do this through various collaborations, projects, research and consulting. Here is a look at some of what we do.

2025

The Colors is a consulting and ecosystem dedicated to the multicultural beauty market. Founded by Haweya Mohamed and Ammin Youssouf, The Colors hosted an innovative conference around Afro-descendant ingredients and the fragrance industry in New York, October 2025.

2025

Conceived and developed by Elle N. and generously funded with the support of Maekaeda Gibbon's (Brown Sugar Babe) Black Fragrance Association, Legacy Scent Academy inspires youth through fragrance education and STEM-based learning rooted in culture. Our mission is to inspire the next generation and foster new talent in the industry.

2022

BlackPerfumers in the Schools

Facilitated by Terees Western of FragranTed and M.I.X.E.R.S., during National Teacher Appreciation Week, Ms. Western conducted a series of her Scent Education STE(A)M workshops for youth in Detroit public schools and Detroit's historic STEM organization, DAPCEP.

2023

A Travertine Atelier ScentWeek LA Event hosted and moderated by Terry Carter, CEO and Chief Perfumer of Travertine Spa, Inc. this gathering brought together celebrated Perfumers and Industry professionals in a lively discussion and marketplace, BlackPerfumers was a member of the planning committee.

2024

Founded by Glenn Davis aka Mrcologne76, this online social media event celebrates Black-owned fragrance brands during Black History Month with Live IG Interviews, participating brand discounts, and a vision for an in-person BIPOC Scent Expo. BlackPerfumers is a member of the planning committee. 

2021

An initiative led by perfumer Ezra-Lloyd Jackson alongside Olunife Ofomata of Sweeter Juice Skin, Olfiction UK launched a fragrance giveaway for a Black-owned beauty/fragrance brand to create a bespoke scent without creative fees. The competition was open globally to any brand that submitted a winning brief.
